Congressman Scott Tipton

Representing the 3rd District of Colorado

Letter to the Editor: Amazed, but proud

While the Democrats don’t seem to have time for anything except for finding fault with President Trump, which is not a recognizable profession, there are people in congress that are looking out for Colorado. Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colorado) has worked tirelessly to relocate the headquarters of Bureau of Land Management from Washington, D.C. to Grand Junction, Colorado. U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton is also an advocate for this move. Even Democrat Gov. Jared Polis says he’s completely on board with this move. I’m amazed, but proud (finally) that our Republicans and Democrats have demonstrated to the rest of Congress and the U.S. how much can be accomplished when working as a team for the good of the land and the people.

It’s only practical to move BLM to Grand Junction; after all, what does Wasington. D.C. know about ‘open spaces’? For that matter, what do they know about the best way to utilize them? Their idea of open space is a paved parking lot.

Relocating the BLM headquarters to Grand Junction will provide good paying jobs while protecting our environment. It’s a win-win situation.
