Tipton Slams Partisan Impeachment Tactics
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today the U.S. House of Representatives voted on sending the articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate and the seven House members who will manage the trial. The resolution passed along party lines, with the exception of one Democrat voting with Republicans. Congressman Scott Tipton (CO-03) released the following statement following the vote:
“Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly stated her party’s partisan impeachment sham is an ‘urgent concern to national security,’ yet she alone delayed the process. Shouldn’t such an ‘urgent concern’ be addressed more expeditiously? Here we are nearly a month later voting on the members who will manage their ongoing partisan sham in the Senate, six of whom called for the President’s impeachment before the whistleblower report was public.
Twice now, Nancy Pelosi has intentionally sidetracked Congress from working on historic trade agreements out of desperation to distract the American public from the economic success story we are experiencing. I encourage the Senate to end this process quickly and get back to work on the real issues Americans are concerned about.”
