Tipton Statement on EPA Finalizing Delay of WOTUS
WASHINGTON D.C. – Congressman Scott Tipton (CO-03) made the following statement in response to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) decision to finalize the delay of President Obama’s Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule.
“It is a relief to hear that EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt finalized the regulation to delay the most burdensome federal water and land grab in American history. The Obama Administration’s WOTUS rule completely circumvented state water rights and put decisions about our water in the hands of Washington bureaucrats. WOTUS threatened the private property rights of millions of Western farmers, ranchers and landowners who rely daily on access to their water rights, ultimately threatening their entire livelihoods. This decision is welcome news and I applaud Administrator Pruitt for taking necessary action.”
